L'Arrêt-Buffatte is the name of the parcel along the old Roman road connecting Paris to Clermont-Ferrand. It used to be a stopover for the industrious, where travelers would take a break and eat. Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
The picturesque towns of Sancerre and Pouilly-sur-Loire are located very close to each other, separated by the majestic Loire. Despite this geographical proximity, the different soils and microclimates result in two distinctive expressions of Sauvignon Blanc. On this side of the Loire, marl deposits dominate, giving Pouilly Fumé a remarkable mineral freshness and clear structure that clearly stands out from the character of Sancerre.
The name Arrêt-Buffatte is inspired by the old Roman road that once ran between Paris and Clermont-Ferrand. This route was a popular rest stop for travelers who liked to fortify themselves with fine wines. This wine also unfolds its full potential at home and harmonizes perfectly with delicate dishes such as grilled prawns, calamari or scallops.
