The picturesque towns of Sancerre and Pouilly-sur-Loire are located very close to each other, separated by the majestic Loire. On this side of the Loire, marl deposits dominate, giving Pouilly Fumé a remarkable mineral freshness and clear structure that clearly stands out from the character of Sancerre.

The name Arrêt-Buffatte is inspired by the old Roman road that once ran between Paris and Clermont-Ferrand.
