The grapes for this wine, called “Gutsriesling”, come from plots - similar to the wines from the “Jungfer” site - which, in addition to loess and clay, have a high proportion of sandy quartzite.
The quartzite absorbs the sun's heat during the day and releases it back to the vines at night.
This is also crucial for the strong minerality and freshness and the good storage capacity.
The grapes for this wine were harvested in mid and late September. They were light green to golden yellow and ripe.
After the harvest, the grapes were pressed directly and the partial batches were fermented in stainless steel for between 3 and 6 weeks and left on the fine lees until January.
