The SCHLOSSBERG is located north of Achkarren and rises to over 350 m above sea level. Its name comes from the Höhingen Castle, built in the 13th century, whose weathered ruins can still be found on the summit today. The soil is extremely stony, as the vines here also have their roots in the dark tephrite. Working on the slopes, which are up to 60 percent steep, is demanding and challenging. In addition, the curved shape of the mountain creates an individual microclimate that characterizes a very individual type of wine.

CRAFTSMANSHIP:

The grapes were harvested by hand at the end of August 2022 and strictly sorted. After pressing, the must obtained was clarified only by gravity and then spontaneously fermented in barriques (228l) made of French oak. The wine then matured on the full lees for 10 months. Bottling took place after filtration in June 2023.
