With the "Traminer" we are breaking new ground and yet we are still preserving Rheingau tradition. New ground because we combine three different Traminers in this wine, the white Traminer (Savagnin blanc) with a little red Traminer and Gewürztraminer. And tradition because in earlier times some Gewürztraminer was also planted in many Riesling vineyards to give it a little more fruit and spice.
The vines are located in the Jungfer site, which has a high proportion of quartzite in addition to sandy loess and clay. The quartzite absorbs the sun's warmth during the day and releases it back to the vines at night. This is also crucial for the strong minerality and freshness and the good storage capacity.
With intensive leaf work we ensure good ventilation and thus promote the health of the grapes.
The grapes for this wine were harvested on September 18th. They were golden yellow to light amber and very ripe.
After the harvest, the grapes were pressed directly, fermented spontaneously in stainless steel until the beginning of December and left on the lees until the beginning of March. The wine was bottled at the end of March.
The wine impresses with its fullness and power, the fine, subtle aroma of ripe yellow fruits and roses.
