James Suckling 96 points: Very impressive in every respect. Abundant notes of crushed flowers, dark minerals, dry-roasted spices, black fruit and dark chocolate for starters. The palate has energetic, sleek and super-fine, long tannins that carry concentrated, fruit flavors in suave, long waves. Excellent wine. Drink in 2020.
Jeb Dunnuck 94 points: A new cuvée (for me anyway), the 2016 Cairanne Homage A Andre Brusset is deep ruby/purple-colored and gives up beautiful notes of black and blue fruits, cedar herbs, white pepper, and spice. It's seamless, pure and elegant, with an undeniable elegance and purity. It's certainly one of the finest Cairanne in this report.
Parker-Czerwinski 94 points: Only made in exceptional vintages, the 2016 Cairanne Homage a Andre Brusset is a 50-50 blend of Grenache and Mourvèdre, made without destemming. It's rich and velvety without being overly alcoholic, weighing in at only 14% alcohol, according to Brusset (it's labeled at 13.5%). Dark fruit flavors abound, picking up delicate spice notes on the long, silky finish.
