Jeb Dunnuck 90-93 points: Framboise, spice, dried flowers, and hints of orange peel all emerge from the 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, which is elegant, seamless, and fine, yet certainly has some tannin. It's very much in the new style of this estate, is perfectly balanced, and has a great finish.
Parker-Czerwinski 91 points: While the 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape Le Caillou is an excellent effort, I have to admit I hoped for more based on last year's tasting. Black olive and raspberry notes create an attractive mix of fruity and savory elements, while the palate is full-bodied but perhaps a bit open-knit and coarse, showing the effects of heat and drought on the tannins. I'd suggest drinking it over the near term.
James Suckling 92 points: Attractive, ripe black cherries and blackberries with a rich and supple palate that has very fleshy and intense cassis and black cherries. Quite a ripe finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink now.
