Parker - Larner 97 points: Tasted from barrel, the 2019 Ventaglio is a wine of wild potential. I can't wait to taste the finished results. So far, we have vibrant and youthful fruit, with well-integrated vanilla and hazelnut and plenty of soft blackberry at the back. This whole flight of Cabernet Franc had a beautiful crescendo, culminating with this bottle.
Suckling 97 points: This is so nicely crafted, with tannins that are fine and integrated, creating such a fine, silky texture. It's medium-bodied with fantastic length and a long, persistent finish. So drinkable now, but will be even better in two or three years. Try after 2024.
Dunnuck 96 points: The 2019 Argentiera is compact and savory with herbaceous layers as well as notes of menthol, toasted cedar, cassis, and fresh leather. Full-bodied and fresh, with beautiful taper and a lift of acidity on the finish, it delivers a rich concentration of flavors with blackberry, violets, and oak spice. It is long on the palate and deserves another year in cellar before enjoying over the following 15-20 years.
Falstaff 98 points: Noble ruby red, dark and bright. Rich and inviting nose, opens with fine spicy notes, some sandalwood and cardamom, then rich forest fruit and ripe raspberry, with a hint of black cherry in the aftertaste. On the palate with noble spice and great melting, spreads balanced over the tongue, with tight tannins, very precise, shows finesse and elegance, with fine pressure on the palate, long finish.
