Light cherry red. Seductive aromas of dark cherries, dried rose petals, thyme and steamy earth. Beautifully elegant and long-lasting on the palate. Medium body with lush red fruit and fine-grained tannins that are drawn out on the palate by the acidity, creating a spicy and dry finish.
The vines grow on old, stony soils on the higher terraces of the Te Muna Road vineyard; eight different Pinot Noir clones in over 40 different plots. The grapes are hand picked and fermented with natural yeasts before the wine is aged for eight months in French barriques - without racking. A dark, lush wine with a silky texture; complex and interesting.
