2021 Puro Malbec-Cabernet Dieter Meier

The Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon vines for this Puro Blend grow in the high-altitude vineyards of Luján de Cuyo. The greatest advantage of this altitude is the cool nights. Because they delay the natural ripening process and allow the grapes to reach their full physiological maturity, developing a harmonious balance of alcohol and tannin aromas while maintaining a fresh acidity. Dieter Meier cultivates his vineyards using organic farming methods; the extremely dry soils are drip-irrigated with meltwater from the Andes. The grapes of both grape varieties are harvested at the end of March, immediately brought to the winery, fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures of 27 to 28 °C and matured without wood, purely in stainless steel tanks, in order to preserve the fruity character of the grape variety as much as possible in the wine.
