Very inviting nose with rich fruit, predominantly red berries and plums, and sweet spices with a hint of hearty oak. Medium body on the palate and very approachable flavors of cassis and dark berries, rounded off by mild tannins.

The Farm Hand wines are produced by the Grigoriou family, the fourth generation to be involved in winemaking. The winery comprises almost 100 acres of organic vineyards in the Monash Valley in South Australia. The temperate, dry climate with very little rain in autumn and the fertile soils are the perfect conditions for organic winemaking. The distance between the individual, well-tended vines is relatively large so that they get enough air. This limits the risk of disease and requires little water for a guaranteed low yield. The wine has rich flavors and a wide range of expressions.
The grapes are completely destemmed. Fermentation then takes place in a mixture of open and closed tanks. The wine is vinified mainly without contact with wood to preserve the maximum fruit aromas. The wine is finally blended with components that have been aged in three and four year old French oak.
The nose is very expressive, showing soft red fruits, a dusty aroma and notes of mocha oak. The palate is also very open and has a medium body with black berries, olives and mulberries, accompanied by subtle notes of tobacco. The wine is very generous and the mild tannins and freshness ensure a long, persistent finish.
