2021 Sonnenberg Kanzem - Grosse Lage -Riesling Cantzheim

the Sonnenberg - a Riesling from the Kanzemer Sonnenberg. It all started with the Kanzemer Sonnenberg in 2015, when Anna walked through the village of Kanzem to chat with older vineyard owners. After this walk with a stroller, she had an option on two hectares - in the best and steepest part of the Kanzemer Sonnenberg. The largest part lay fallow, two old plots were taken over for production, and in 2017 the equally good plots from the Reinert winery were added. Almost all of the fallow land has been newly planted and is gradually coming into production. This wine is a rather strong, juicy candidate due to the vintage. The yield was very low, the acidity moderate. Very ripe fruit of peach and mango, deep, full-bodied minerality. A wine that needs a lot of time - but now goes wonderfully with braised dishes or spicy, creamy curries.
