James Suckling - 92
Ripe red and black plums and cherries with hints of dates and ground spices. A medium-to full-bodied monastrell, filled with ripe tannins and succulent berry fruit. Hints of dried fruit and prunes, too. Juicy, nicely generous and mouthwatering finish. Vegan. Drink now.
The old bush vines, on average 50 years old, produce only the smallest yields and grow at almost 900 meters above sea level. The approximately 100 hectares of vineyards are spread over two plots. Espernalas, a "Clos" surrounded by stone walls, and Panduro, a small plot facing north, both are organically cultivated. The wine matures for at least 12 months in 500-liter French oak barrels and is then bottled unfiltered. Dark and ripe berry aromas on the nose. Wild herbs and toast notes are added on the palate, surprisingly fresh and at the same time full-bodied
