On the nose, the wine is delicate, fresh, generous aromas of white flowers, subtle jasmine aromas, hints of white truffles, light figs, nuances of fresh fruit, grapefruit aromas, light black pepper.

On the palate, it is rather elegant, delicate, drinkable, floral, notes of white truffle, round tannins, smooth, very mineral, subtle body, good intensity, long finish. Blood orange and red fruits.

In France there are only 1,000 hectares of this red grape variety.

Pineau d'Aunis is a red wine variety that is mainly cultivated in the French wine-growing region of Loire. The name is derived from the medieval monastery Prieuré d'Aunis in Dampierre-sur-Loire near Saumur. There the grape variety was selected from existing vineyards. However, experts are not yet in agreement as to whether it is an independent variety (the ampelographer Pierre Galet is of this opinion) or whether it is a mutation of the Chenin Blanc variety. In the early 1990s, the area planted with vineyards was still around 1,000 hectares. In 2007, only 436 hectares were recorded. (Source ONIVINS [1][2] )

It is permitted in the red and rosé wines of the appellations of Anjou, Coteaux du Vendômois, Touraine, Rosé de Loir, Coteaux du Loir, Crémant de Loire and Valençay.
