This region, which forms the heel of the Italian boot, was once known for its enormous production of leaden red wines, which were exported to be diluted with less successful harvests in cooler countries. Even today, less than five percent of production is DOC. The region is still Italy's largest grape producer, but since the late 1990s there has been talk of a very positive development and suddenly very inexpensive and original red and rosé wines are being produced here. Summers are very warm there, but the proximity of the sea cools them down at night. It can be very dry, but in a normal year there is just enough rain at the right time.
This wine is made from 100% Primitivo. The grapes are destemmed and vinified using new methods that ensure gentle processing. Maceration takes place in steel tanks. Primitivo is grown on hilly terrain: clayey and calcareous and rich in minerals.

The color of this Primitivo is cardinal red. Intense aromas predominate on the nose with scents of cherries, vanilla, herbs and a hint of leather. In the mouth, the wine is powerful and rich with a long finish.
