There is a reason why Markus Schneider's Ursprung is one of the best-selling German red wines: it is young, it is wild: the exceptional winemaker, Markus Schneider! Markus Schneider is almost obsessed with his wines, he spends most of his time in the vineyards! He is always looking for improvements and so the year before last he started to cultivate some plots of land with horses in the old tradition. This is much easier than with a conventional tractor, the soil is protected, not compacted and the movement of the hooves also loosens it and supplies it with additional oxygen. URSPRUNG is Markus Schneider's first red wine ever! The wine has its origins in Ellerstadt, the home of the Schneider family and it is the origin of Markus Schneider's success story! The grapes for the Ursprung come from various vineyard plots between the Vorderpfälzer Ebene and the Haardtrand. Gravelly sand and terraced gravel characterize the barren and very dry soils.

The red cuvée of the origin consists of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Portugieser and flows dark red into the glass, has a very rich bouquet of plum, cassis, paprika, pepper, graphite, cocoa, mint and violet. On the palate the wine is fresh and juicy, with lots of fruit and finesse.
