2021 Riesling Gundersheimer trocken 1er Wittmann

The 2021 Gundersheimer Riesling "1G" is the seventh vintage after the Flurbereinigung of the Höllenbrand that extends the Morstein but is located on higher, more windy altitudes. The wine is based on grapes picked in late October and opens with a pure, fresh and stony bouquet with flinty and lemony aromas. Lush and saline on the palate, this is a pure, fresh and elegant, also lush and finessed Höllenbrand marketed under the village designation. It has a savory and crunchy finish with stimulating lemon bitters and white peach aromas on the aftertaste. 12% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2022.
